About

Welcome, my name is Miriam and I enjoy learning about fitness, exercising, exploring nutrition and sharing recipes. I started this blog to share what I have learned thus far in my journey toward living a healthy and active lifestyle.

Until the summer of 2010 I had not really been dedicated to my personal health and fitness, but a series of events led me to a moment when I had to choose to continue on the path I was currently on headed towards current and future health problems or find another way to regain my health. That moment would force me to either submit to medication or choose to turn my life around by naturally correcting my current and possibly future health issues through nutrition and exercise. I remember that day I made the choice that "I", not medicine would 'fix' myself and so I began a new lifestyle of healthy living.

As a result, I have gathered/created information/recipes throughout my journey which I gladly share with you and will continue to post as I move forward and continue to learn and grow. You should know that I'm not here to promote services, products or supplements but rather to share with you what I have found and what has worked for me and hopefully help you find your own way to a healthier you!

Some of my Favorite Quotes that Inspire and Motivate me:

"Health and good estate of body are above all gold, and a strong body above infinite wealth."
- Ecclesiasticus 30:15

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other... people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us, it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
- Marianne Williamson

“Every worthwhile accomplishment has a price tag attached to it. The question is always whether you are willing to pay the price to attain it – in hard work, sacrifice, patience, faith, and endurance.”
- John C. Maxwell

“I knew from feelings that I had to do something. And I did it. And I did it well. I did what made me feel better tomorrow even though it was very, very painful at the time. The result was beneficial. Doing those things today that feel good tomorrow.”
- Thomas D. Willhite

“So long as there is breath in me, that long I will persist. For now I know one of the greatest principles on success; if I persist long enough I will win.”
- Og Mandino
